How our Potential Vulnerability assessment is performed

Ceeyu uses different techniques to determine potential vulnerabilities. The main source of potential vulnerability discovery is the lookup of software types and versions found during our port scan (see Open Ports assessment) and file analysis (see Files in Digital Footprint)  in the Mitre CVE database.  This lookup will result in a list of all known vulnerabilities for a service or a software version.

The actual presence of the vulnerability can be tested using our active vulnerability assessment, which can be initiated either from the active vulnerability assessment page, or by clicking on the following icon on the passive vulnerability assessment page.
